Guys, is it possible to sneeze without
closing your eyes.
We all know it’s good to breathe by
nose, but when we inhale foreign particles, sensors come in to the picture and
detect the unwanted materials. The sensors direct the cilia—tiny, hair like oars
that link our nostrils and sinuses—to move to oust the stimulant. Sneezing, also known as sternutation,
in which your body act bit surprisingly and automatic remove an irritating
particles from your nose. This procedure is ideal at early stage, and you
don’t even imagine that cilia are at work.
But when you catch cold, a germ has made
a temporary home there and instigating lots of itching and irritation.
Back to our core question!
There are numerous reasons
for this, let's start with universal thinking.
People believe that your eyes could come out if
you sneezed with them open. Lol
Another is we exhale air so fast (approx. 100mph) and as lot of pressure
in the nasal cavity that we close our eyes automatically to protect them.
The medical term for a
sneeze is the “sternutatory reflex”. Everybody sneeze, even animals do so. Technically,
during sneeze, tremendous pressure is placed on the body. Extensive air stress
is also place upon the eyes. Although , this pressure is not sufficient to pop
your eyes come out of your face or even make them swell out, but enough to make
your eyes feel uncomfortable from the added pressure. According to Dr. G.H.
Drumheller of the International Rhinologic Society in Milan, we close our eyes
when we sneeze in order to keep the eyes from “extruding”.
So no need to worry, if you try to open your eyes while sneezing, it will not come out. lol
Keep smiling
